What you were doing before you decided to become an IAWP Wellness Coach?
I had spent approximately 30 years in the corporate world, and for the last 15 years, had been a CFO of various companies.
Why did you decide to become a Wellness Coach?
During my corporate career, I always had felt as though something was missing in my life. While I was successful, I lacked a sense of fulfillment and wanted to help others. I have always been passionate and involved in health and wellness (play sports, exercise regularly and focused on proper nutrition as I am a type 2 diabetic and sometimes have issues controlling my weight). Through the assistance of a self-evaluation course, I decided to pursue my passion and fulfill my role in life by helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.
How has being a student at the IAWP helped you?
Not only has this program prepared me for starting my own coaching business, but more importantly, greatly assisted in helping me improve my own personal health and wellness in all areas of my life including nutrition, disease management, relationships, stress management, awareness, spirituality, happiness and, develop an overall greater appreciation for life. Making the significant behavioral changes in my own life has greatly assisted in my ability to relate to and empathize with potential clients struggling with their own health and wellness challenges.
The support received from the advisors at IAWP has also enabled me to grow beyond my comfort zone and be in a position to launch a successful business sooner than I ever thought possible.
